Headache returns

By last night the stabbing in the head was back, and the pill that seemed so miraculous was doing nothing. I tried it several times, but nothing helped. So, I had a pretty bad evening -- I did sleep even though I knew my head hurt all night. This morning was even worse, so I called my doctor. Basically I guess I'm in the migraine hell that so many people know. There just isn't a magic bullet and everyone is different. Allison, my next door neighbor who is a PA, came over and we talked quite a bit-- I have such a wonderful neighborhood. She felt that I should keep taking the meds on schedule plus add Aleve morning and evening, so I took one of them as well. Right now -- mid afternoon -- I feel better -- kind of a dull thud with little twinges, but nothing like the morning. My doc wants me to do a cat scan next week if it isn't better. Since I've never been here before, I have no idea what to expect. Since I'm doing better now, I plan to get busy around the house -- my feeling is that sitting still and thinking about your head probably isn't good medicine, and I'm not convinced that anything I do can make it worse (well, with some obvious exceptions like deciding to jackhammer the driveway:-)
