Pretty bad photo...but here are our new washer/dryer -- the ones left in the house were pretty much shot -- you had to hand dial the washer through every cycle.  So, we went to Best Buy and got these -- each has a storage drawer on the bottom, which is not only handy for, well, storage...but also elevates them a little.  I hope this is the last time we ever buy them...it's such a weird age when you think about whether you'll be alive or dead for the next big appliance purchases!
So here's my bike -- loaded with groceries from the Ballston Farmer's Market and Harris Teeter.   Today I wondered if I had exceeded the bike's capacity -- I had a lot of heavy stuff.  But, I distributed the weight evenly and still hardly even noticed it as I rode.  Note the Obama button on the front...you know, if the American people don't elect him, I just don't know...I guess the "how to become a Canadian" website will get blasted again.  Speaking of the election, Emily -- Suzanne just emailed to say that she does have a letter for you from Arlington County -- so I'll bike over there today and pick it up.

I did my first volunteer stint at Sun and Moon Yoga this morning -- 7 till 9.  Usually I'll just stay on and take a class at 9:30, but Best Buy wouldn't budge on the delivery time today, so I had to run home.  I can pretty much do what appeals to me, and I decided that I'd do a really good job cleaning 2 of the studios.  I put on one of the mellow CDs, and just busted those floors and shelves.  Ren -- the yoga teacher I loved in Fredericksburg -- was always very specific about how props should be put away.  It just added to the order and everything in its place feeling...so I dumped out all the bands and re-rolled them Ren-style, refolded blankets...and felt good when I walked out.  It was so different to take my time...I worked slowly and took care in each step -- not my usual mode, but hey, it was a yoga studio!

haha - that website was by far my best find of the year last year.
And wo-hoo my letter is in! Once I know I'm registered in Arlington, I can send in my absentee application. I don't want them to think I'm trying to register in 2 locations and have them try to stick me with that $2500 fine ><

So Emily -- you have everything you need now? You don't need me to send you the absentee ballot? I can't remember if you took that back with you - -I'm thinking you did. Also, when I picked up your mail I saw Sam -- he says you can also vote at any American Embassy...but that could be quite a trip for you, probably on a work day.

Hi mom -
The absentee ballot form is on-line, and they'll e-mail the real ballot to me in November; that part is all quite simple.
I just need you to open the letter I got and verify for me that I'm registered in Arlington (not F'burg anymore). I don't need the actual letter, I just want to make sure I'm registered in the right place before I submit my absentee form
