I'm at the 7 day mark (again...ha ha) of a detox -- basically South Beach Phase I -- which means lots of protein and green veggies, skim milk/cottage cheese, legumes, and nuts. It has meant no processed anything -- no white sugar (or brown, or honey, or molasses), no flour at all, nothing packaged. No breads, crackers, frozen treats. I still have my Diet Coke -- a girl's gotta hold on to some vice, and yea, my coffee. I know I should ditch those as well, but I'm not perfect.

I have to say, other than feeling kind of lethargic, it's going well. I'm being careful about potassium and water so I don't get too goofy. I can say that:
1. I do not have cravings for sugar or flour
2. I'm tasting my food more
3. I'm not hungry
4. I can see that planning meals around green veggies, having them as the focus, opens up a new world

Also, Doug and I had fresh green beans from the garden last night for dinner -- about 15 minutes from vine to table. They were very delicious -- yep, you could taste the difference.
