On Saturday morning I got to the Arlington Farmer's Market when it opened -- since I was still feeling sick, I had been awake since forever.  Well, I certainly wasn't alone at the market!  There were already tons of people in line at the Westmoreland Berry Farm stall which had fresh asparagus and strawberries.  I don't know, but I just can't stand in lines like that even if the stuff is good.  It's certainly not anyone's "fault" that everyone wants good produce, and maybe I should stand in the line and meditate on my feet.  But, my sense of being rushed and time-stressed hasn't totally left me, so I can't do it.

But, fortunately, there were lots of other stalls without the lines.  I got some beautiful Swiss chard that I sauteed with olive oil for dinner, 4 pints of fresh strawberries for a pie Sunday night, and some hot house tomatoes.  There are always seductive baked things and I didn't resist -- got cookies and a loaf of sourdough bread.  The cookies (apple glazed and loaded oatmeal) talked to me the whole ride home, and I got back and put out 1 of each for me and Doug.  I ate mine, slowly and with total enjoyment, and Doug ate half of one of his and was done.  He just doesn't have the sweet tooth thing...Emily saw the cookies on the table and we both urged him to bag them and hide them.
