I went to a GMU event last night -- the Amnesty chapter there brought in Ann Wright to speak.  She's a former State Department employee and retired US Army Colonel who quit in protest of the war in Iraq.  She spoke about the need for a full accounting of US torture policy and that we need to not just stop it, but bring people who ordered torture to justice.  She also said that we must actively assess the mental states of those involved in the torture and make sure they get the counseling they will need to rejoin society.

Today I wrote to President Obama asking that he call for a full accounting of those who tortured in my name. You can write to him too:

The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW
Washington, DC 20500
Or call him:  202-456-1111

She was in Gaza recently and described her experience of getting through the Egyptian check point and the devastation she saw.  Her feeling is that Israel was indeed being shelled by terrorists, but that the response was to level an entire area, most business and industry is destroyed, people are homeless and without jobs..  If the answer to terrorism is to demolish any area that hosts terrorists, then we might as well blow up the whole world, because that's the nature of terrorists -- they can live anywhere.
