Whew -- yep, wedding.  The whole mother of the bride dress thing had been hanging over my head -- I had done some looking online, and had a picture of what I wanted.  I figured that with the holidays plus inauguration I'd have plenty of choices, so it wasn't a panic, but I knew I'd feel better when that hurdle was passed.  So, yesterday Mom and I were at Tysons shopping, and I decided that I should at least go see a few things in person.  And, I found something pretty at Nordstroms -- perfect really, so I bought it (along with some amazing foundation-wear to hide...well, lots.)  It's gold, long and slinky, has a v-neck and pretty fabric over the shoulders...but no cleavage shows or anything...so, I guess I feel that it's good for my age, size, etc.  And...I found a picture of it on the site...doesn't quite look the same on me though:-)  The fabric itself is totally stretchy, but you wouldn't know it by looking...that is one of the reasons for the Spanx -- amazing under-thing...but, it also makes it very comfy once you stuff yourself into the Spanx.  I found some shoes online this morning that might work, so I'll hope that I don't have to face a shoe department.  I also ordered several shawls to try...I mean, it will be December, and figure one of those has to work.  I certainly prefer shopping online to walking around malls, but I'm really going to have to be organized with returning...I know a bunch of stuff will need to get packaged and returned...as in at least 2 shawls.

Spanx! That's a genious idea. Remind me to get some when I come home too - I've been worrying about fitting into my dress, and that never occurred to me!
