Very few days go by when I don't stop and consider how fortunate I am, what a wonderful life I'm leading at the moment.  It seems strange, given that that many indicators would say that the world is falling apart.  I know we've lost tons of money in investments -- both in Doug's retirement fund plus all that nice money from our house sale that we responsibly invested about a month ago!  But for whatever reason, I'm living very much in the moment, and can't worry much about the future -- mainly because there's not a darn thing we can do about it, so why get worked up?  My world is so positive and minute-by-minute good, that assaults of bad news aren't making it in.
