Interesting point in book I'm reading: Everyone is vulnerable to the shopping trick of get 5 for $10, or 3 for $5...whatever -- if we went in to the store needing just one lemon, but they're advertised 4 for $2, most of us go ahead and buy the 4 -- research shows that's a really powerful marketing trick...that makes people buy more than they really wanted...and end up either throwing away, eating too much, etc... Today I was in the store and saw limes advertised that way, and they looked so pretty, and I don't have a recipe in mind that requires limes right now...and I almost bought them "just in case I need a lime." But, stopped when I remembered the research! They almost got me!
