I mentioned that I'd try to figure out how to get through this gray weather.  I started with kick-butt aerobics at the gym this morning, forced myself to do some chores around the house, then gave myself a big reward at the movie theatre.  I went to the noon showing of Watchmen, and was one of about 5 people (and the only woman) in the theatre.  I enjoyed it, but then, I also have read the book and enjoyed that.  Some of the reviews said that it seemed dated, and that's true -- it hearkened back to the 80's, the cold war, conservatives in the White House, pre-911 world.  One thing the film omitted was the Tales of the Black Freighter comic within the comic.  I loved the old pirate tale juxtaposed with the main plot -- but I can see that adding that in would have meant millions more dollars on the film.  But still, I wish they would have tried it somehow.  I read the book some years ago, but could see that the film followed pretty closely.

I had to do some Google searching, but Jeffrey Dean Morgan who played the Comedian (one character with basically NO redeeming features -- top photo) is the same guy who plays Denny on Grey's Anatomy.  I kept thinking, no, Denny's too nice...but he added a beard and acted all psychotic and creepy.
