As some of my readers know, I have had some (well, complete) success over the past several months with taking my alcohol consumption down to zero.  It is certainly the best choice for me.  But part of me misses the fun of drinks, as reported in this NYT article called Your Signature Cocktail.  All the pretty colors, glasses, garnishes.  However, I can have just as much fun with food, which still has limitless options for experimentation and fun.  So what would my current signature drink be?  Ha -- probably a milk shake made with home made cinnamon ice cream garnished with caramelized apples. And whipped cream.  And a cherry.  With a Diet Coke chaser.

What is your signature drink?

Interesting post because I just got a book on smoothies and punches at Harris Teater last night that I've been looking over(most of them non-alcoholic)! I'm not sure what my signature drink would be but I think it would be fruity.

The aesthetic quality of a cocktail or drink in general has definite importance. I cannot really speak to spirit-based drinks, but the appearance of a properly poured beer can do wonders for the overall experience of consuming it. Of course, you need the proper glass as well. The way light can shine through a beer the proper glassware, the way the light reflects off of the beer, off the glass, are things to be sought after. Nice little post.
