So, with the investment of an hour on the phone, on hold, on obnoxious voice menus...I got our Verizon internet down from $59 a month to $19.95 -- yes, coincidentally the same amount that Comcast offered us in their flyer.  So..how did the bill get to $59?  Because I had tried to go with Comcast when we first moved here, and Verizon said no no...we'll give you great service free for 6 months...sounded good.  But when they started billing after the 6 months...there were lots of game features, etc., that came with the "free"version, that continued.  Very tricky.  So...I finally got the bill back down.  Really, dealing with these telecommunication utilities is like buying a car once a month -- constant looking at fine print , negotiating...  and when I worked  full time with kids, etc., the hour of negotiating just couldn't fit in...I guess I'm justifying my not working...saved us a big $40 today.
