Yesterday was a big day in the 'burg.  I took Kate's car and did a training session at the gym, then decided to get a new muffler for the car because I wasn't convinced that it would make it back home in one piece.  Rebecca came to the car place to get me and take me to Suzanne's -- she had such a beautiful going-away party for me.  The food was all home-made and delicious, and she had set up pretty little tables in her "apartment."  We all just relaxed and had a nice time visiting with each other.  Then I dropped the girls off at Kohls while I ran to the doctor.  It was a big wait...and a guy next to me in the waiting room had some kind of fainting spell, so I went over and shook him a little...and he didn't do anything.  So another guy ran for a nurse, but by the time she came out, he had opened his eyes and seemed like maybe he was just sleeping.  But, no...he was in cardiac arrest, so an ambulance came.

Then we finally made it, just in time, to the Salem Church Library for Emily and Satomi's Japan presentation.  I was able to see Emily's pretty festival outfit for the first time -- Satomi, who is a registered kimono dresser, put it on a little girl and explained all the steps.  It's amazing how she was able to fold it so the adult-sized dress fit a little girl.  The kids were all very interested and well behaved -- and Francis had sushi for them at the end.
